Horse Madness
2024 Champion
Our 2024 Horse of the Year is Oliver! He is a Paint/Shire Cross standing at 16.2 hands tall. Oliver came to the park when he was only 5-years-old and has since become a jack-of-all-trades. He has worked every park event imaginable, from parades to ceremonies, and has even been to visit Washington D.C. Congratulations Oliver & Captain Rakes!
2024 Horse Madness
Horse Madness is a lively and spirited competition held annually on the Kentucky Horse Park social media pages, inspired by the bracket-style format of March Madness in basketball. It features 60 horses from different barns, including Breeds Barn, Hall of Champions, Mounted Police, and Big Barn. Participants vote for their favorite horses on Facebook and Instagram stories during 24-hour periods. The horse with the most votes in each matchup advances until a champion is crowned, offering a fun and light-hearted showcase of the diverse horses at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The Rules
The Lineup
We have 60 magnificent horses ready to strut their stuff, each representing their barn with pride: Breeds Barn, Hall of Champions, Mounted Police, and Big Barn.
The Bye Week
Each barn will select 1 horse to be their “bye week” horse, skipping round 1 and automatically advancing to round 2.
Voting Channels
Cast your votes on both Facebook and Instagram stories. We want everyone to join the fun, so spread the word like wildfire!
Time to Trot
Each “competition” lasts 24 hours, so be sure to rally your herd to vote! All of the competitions will begin and end

Advancing to Victory
At the end of the 24 hours, all votes will be tallied. The horse with the most votes will proudly gallop into the next round, one hoof closer to glory!
