They will be recording the podcast in front of the EquineEd audience at the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor Center on Saturday, May 11th, starting at 12:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Veterinarians Bart Barber, DVM, MBA, Peter Morresey, BVSc, MVM, MACVSc, DACT, DACVIM(LAIM), CVA and Kate Christie, MSc, DVM, DACVIM(LAIM) will host their podcast StallSide and answer questions from the audience.
About Dr. Barber:
Dr. Bart Barber graduated from Washington State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and later completed an internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital from 1998-1999. His primary practice focus includes reproduction, primary and preventive care and sales.
About Dr. Morresey:
Dr. Peter Morresey is a member by examination of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and holds Diplomate status in both the American College of Theriogenologists and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He has spoken nationally and internationally on various subjects important to the practice and science of equine veterinary medicine. In addition to clinical topics (neonatology, neurology, infectious disease and metabolic concerns as they relate to reproductive medicine), he has also delved into the economics of the practice of medicine. True to his background in education, he is a reviewer and contributor to several leading veterinary journals and author of chapters in veterinary textbooks.
About Dr. Christie:
Dr. Kate Christie grew up riding horses and watching standardbred racing in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia. Her main areas of interest include gastrointestinal disease, metabolic disease and neonatal medicine. She also loves being a part of teaching and mentoring the next generation of equine veterinarians and enjoys working with the amazing interns and residents.
About Dr. Alexander:
Dr. David Alexander was raised on his familyโs third-generation dairy farm in northwestern Pennsylvania. Growing up showing dairy cattle and Quarter Horses sparked his interest in veterinary medicine. He graduated from Gannon University in 2014 with his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, and later earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University in 2020. He later completed two ambulatory internships at Rood & Riddle before joining the team as an associate veterinarian. His primary interests include reproduction, sport horse and emergency medicine.
