Join us for an exciting EquineEd event on March 1st featuring Dr. Amy Lawyer, PhD!
This talk will take an in-depth look that the decision making, economics, and business of breeding, raising, selling, and the beginning of training for competition horses. From evaluating pedigrees, basic understanding of genetics, to the logistics of breeding and raising foals, we will go on a journey to better understand Central Kentucky’s signature industry.
Dr. Amy Lawyer has a PhD in Leadership from the University of Kentucky, a Masters of Science in Equine Reproduction from Colorado State University, and a Bachelors of Science in Equine Business from the University of Louisville. Dr. Lawyer is currently the department chair for the Equine Industry Program at the University of Louisville. Dr. Lawyer and her husband own and operate a thoroughbred breeding farm in Shelby County.
The EquineEd event will take place in the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor Center on Saturday, March 1st, at 12:30 pm. As always, the lectures are FREE and open to the public.
