Join us for the public dedication of “The Bond: Two Hearts – One Spirit,” a deeply moving monument by acclaimed sculptor Jocelyn Russell celebrating the extraordinary connection between Horse of the Year Cody’s Wish and his namesake, Cody Dorman. The bronze statue captures the unforgettable moment when the young Cody, living with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, felt the horse’s gentle affection as he placed his head in Cody’s lap — a bond shared every time they met.
The monument is thoughtfully designed to be wheelchair accessible, inviting visitors of all abilities to experience the same connection by touching the horse’s nose and looking into its eyes. An engraved wall features the iconic image and the story behind their touching friendship.
This event is FREE and open to the public. It will begin at 9:00 AM and the monument will be located across from the Big Barn near Champion Drive and the Hall of Champions paddocks.
