Join us for an exciting EquineEd event on July 6 featuring Michael Middleton! Michael will speak about the process of creating raku horsehair pots. There will be a quick live demonstration along with a wheel demo and discussion of the process
Michael Middleton is a high school ceramics teacher in Chesapeake, VA and has been teaching for 26 years. He’s has his own working studio and also has workshops and classes out of that studio. He has a degree from ODU and has also spent time in Seagrove, NC, the holy land of ceramics. Michael Middleton is well known in the Outer Banks for creating horsehair pots using corolla wild horsehair and he has also made pots with famous horses. Cigar, John Henry, Lava Man, Blame, and Secretariat last female offspring.
The EquineEd event will take place in the Kentucky Horse Park Visitor Center on Saturday, July 6th at 12:30pm. As always, the lectures are FREE and open to the public.
