
African Americans in the Horse Industry

African Americans played a vital role in establishing and growing Americaโs equine industry. However, many of these contributions were overlooked or hidden due to racial prejudices, lack of information, misrepresentation, or other factors. This selection of materials allows an insight into many of these different individuals and their impact, contributions, and stories of their lives in the horse world. Along with these profiles and stories are a selection of educational modules focusing on the impact African Americans have had and continue to have in the horse world.
