To commemorate its 40th Anniversary and the people and horses on which it has left its mark, the Kentucky Horse Park will host a series of community events throughout the spring and summer. From an Open House Kickoff event, to several Family Fun Nights with special pricing, the KHPโs 40th Anniversary schedule includes activities for all ages to enjoy.
The 40th Anniversary event series begins with an Open House to launch the spring season on Monday, April 2. Guests will be admitted for half price, and the event will feature cupcakes, kidsโ crafts, and a new, historical display in the Visitor Center; as well as the launch of the Black Horsemen of the Kentucky Turf exhibit at the International Museum of the Horse.

KENTUCKY DERBY EXPERIENCE TOURS
Learn about the rich history of the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Horse Park. Spend the morning in Louisville at the Kentucky Derby Museum, followed by self-guided tours and lunch at the Kentucky Horse Park. Ticket includes bus transportation from the Kentucky Derby Museum to the Kentucky Horse Park and back. Visit www.derbymuseum.org for times and ticket information.

BLACK HORSEMEN OF THE KENTUCKY TURF OPENING RECEPTION
Join us for the grand opening of the Museumโs newest exhibit which celebrates the influential contributions of African Americans to the horse industry in Kentucky.
MAY 12, 1 p.m.
SERGEANT RECKLESS UNVEILING PARTY
Help us celebrate the unveiling of a beautiful, life-sized sculpture on the KHP property. Sergeant Reckless was a decorated war horse who held official rank in the U.S. military. Open to the public, this event will include a celebratory reception in the International Museum of the Horse following the unveiling.

FAMILY FUN NIGHTS – EACH MONTH SOMETHING NEW!
Families will be able to enjoy special evening hours at the Kentucky Horse Parkโs Kids Barn and International Museum of the Horse, as well as take part in other special events and activities. $5 per carload. Pony rides also offered for $5 each night.

RUN FOR BIG RED 5K/10K
Winding through the parkโs grounds and including a tour of the KHPโs 40th Anniversary exhibit in the Visitor Center, walkers and runners of all ages will enjoy a special race held in conjunction with KHPโs Anniversary Celebration. The competitive and casual 5K and 10K events will include a 40th Anniversary-themed t-shirt.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT AT ROLEX STADIUM
Watch our resident equine idol, Odd Job Bob, star in the movie โThe Greening of Whitney Brownโ under the stars at Rolex Stadium. This evening will include kidsโ activities, giveaways, and a meet-and-greet with Odd Job Bob! Refreshments will be available for purchase at Rolex.
AUGUST 3, 6-9 p.m.-CANCELED
KHP MAKERS MARK SIP AND CELEBRATE
A celebratory appetizer/cocktail event will be held in honor of the KHPโs ruby anniversary. The evening will feature bourbon-themed appetizers, bourbon tastings, and music in the KHP courtyard. Tickets will be available at kyhorsepark.com and are $75, or $125 with a limited edition Man oโ War Makers Mark bottle.
NOVEMBER 16-17
BLUEGRASS ROCKINโ RODEO
This KHP-owned event will features two nights of elite cowboys and cowgirls at Alltech Arena. Part of the International Professional Rodeo Association, it features eight different rodeo events, followed by a concert on the 17th. Enjoy Kentucky Proud food, craft beer, bourbon, and shopping.
