Man o' War: The Mostest Horse That Ever Was will run at the International Museum of the Horse from March 29, 2017 through November 1, 2017. Man o’ War is considered to be the successful race horse in American history. He won 20 of his 21 life time races and was named horse of the year in 1919. The International Museum of the Horse is celebrating Man o’ War’s 100th birthday with an exhibit in his honor! Come experience the story of the life and career of the original Big Red and those who worked with him. Discover what created Man o’ War’s lasting legacy and how he became the mostest horse. The International Museum of the Horse is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and is included in the horse park admission fee.

The Journey Continues: Preston Dyer’s Bedouin Experience

Yoga in the Museum

Event Description:

The Kentucky Horse Park’s International Museum of the Horse will present a new, free Yoga in the Museum series in 2018 with the partnership of Chelsey Reid of Red Horse Yoga in Georgetown, Ky., beginning January 25, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

These complimentary, hour-long community yoga classes will be held among the exhibits in the museum and will focus on grounding through breath and gentle movement in sequences that are welcoming to both beginner and experienced yogis. Participants should check in at the museum’s front desk upon arrival, and should bring a mat or towel, and water.

Classes will be conducted by Reid who also suggests that students should bring “an open heart to release stress, connect with community, and enjoy a fun flow in one of the most unique gems in the Bluegrass, the International Museum of the Horse.”

International Nights at the Museum

The kickoff event will celebrate the country of India, with food by Tandoor Fine Indian Cuisine, dance performances by Lakshmi Sriraman of Shree School of Dance, and a special viewing of Julie Wayne’s documentary “From Earth to Earth.”
