Point Given Day

Join us for Point Given Day at the Kentucky Horse Park! On Sunday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m., a special Hall of Champions show will centered around our newest resident.
Enjoy an extended meet-and-greet with the strapping Thoroughbred champion, as well as poster giveaways. Point Given Day at the Hall of Champions is included in the cost of park admission.
Point Given has become the fifth Horse of the Year to occupy the Hall of Champions barn. The 20-year-old son of Thunder Gulch was the first horse in history to win four $1 million races in a row, which included the Preakness, the Belmont, the Haskell Invitational Handicap, and the Travers Stakes. For his efforts, he received Eclipse Awards as 2001 Horse of the Year and Champion 3-Year-Old Colt. He was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2010. Kentucky Derby Day Celebrations at the Hall of Champions

Celebrate Kentucky Derby Day at the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions! Both Hall of Champions shows at 10:30 and 1:15 will focus on our Kentucky Derby-winning residents, Go For Gin (1994) and Funny Cide (2003), followed by a special meet-and-greet and poster giveaway while supplies last!
Sergeant Reckless Unveiling Party

Help us celebrate the unveiling of a beautiful, life-sized sculpture on the KHP property. Sergeant Reckless was a decorated war horse who held official rank in the U.S. military.
International Night at the Museum (2)

Join us on June 1 to celebrate the country of Belgium! Located in the KHP courtyard next to the Visitor Center, this month's International Nights at the Museum will allow guests to explore Belgium's horse culture, food, and music.
Meet-and-greet with our Belgium draft horses, Belgium beer, food from Misfit Commissary and 2 Ladies and a Kettle/Midway Sweet Tooth, kids activities and more! $5 per carload will be collected at the parking booth.

A Hunter Pace is a simulated day in the hunt field (without hounds). Teams of two to four riders follow a flagged course through hunt country. Divisions for jumping (first flight), non-jumping (hilltoppers), and pleasure (trail riders). The team closest to the optimum time (without going over) wins. *First team on course at 9:00 am. Last team on course by 1:00 pm.* Ribbons awarded for 1st through 3rd. Hunt attire NOT required. Western riders welcome! Helmets required.
Youth Riding Camp - Week 1 - Summer Break

Opportunity for young horse enthusiasts to become familiar with stable management, equine care, horseback riding, and the history of the horse. Located in the Education Barn.
(No horse experience required)

Shareback Session

The International Museum of the Horse and the Chronicle of African Americans in the Horse Industry invites you to a Shareback Session. This presentation is a follow-up to the History Harvests that were held at the Lyric Theatre and Cultural in April and May. We will share some of the discoveries, mementos, documents and stories that contributors brought. For more information about the history harvests, see this blog post. The event on Thursday is free and open to the public. Please spread the word, and we hope to see you there!
USEF Junior Hunter National Championship - Canceled

Established in 2001, the USEF Junior Hunter National Championship showcases the best junior hunters in the nation while providing riders opportunities to meet and spend time with competitors from all over the country. In 2014, the new 3’3” Junior Hunter section was added to the Championship and has quickly gained popularity. Each year, more than 2,000 eligible hunters qualify to compete in the prestigious final which is held on each coast and is comprised of three phases: handy hunter, classic, and under saddle phase. The overall score from the weighted sections determines the ultimate winner.
Central Kentucky Riding for Hope Halloween Trail Ride & Tack Sale

Central Kentucky Riding for Hope invites you to participate in the fun activities that are part of the 2020 Halloween Trail Ride and Used Tack Sale at the Kentucky Horse Park. Proceeds support CKRH in its mission of providing therapeutic riding and equine related activities to those with special needs.
Movie Night Under The Stars

The Secretariat Center is excited to announce the first-ever “Movie Night Under the Stars” featuring the movie, Secretariat. Movie night will be located on the front lawn of The Secretariat Center with a statue of the great racehorse in the center of the action. The event will feature free popcorn, family-friendly fun, and various giveaways and drawings. Attendees can purchase dinner and dessert on-site from local food trucks, an ice cream truck, and even a beer tent. Guests will have the unique experience of an outdoor movie on a real working horse farm, surrounded by retired racehorses on June 12, 2021, gates open at 6:30 pm.
In order to provide a socially distanced experience tickets are limited to the first 250 pre-paid attendees.
Tickets are $20 each and kids under 10 years of age are $10

Pull up your bootstraps and grab your cowboy hat for a boot-scootin' good time at an upscale barn party to celebrate the 40th anniversary of CKRH’s service to our community….. Enjoy dinner & drinks, a silent auction, and a riding demonstration by CKRH’s young participants all in support of a local nonprofit which provides equine therapeutic activities to individuals with physical, cognitive, or behavioral disabilities. Tickets can be purchased after August 1st on the event website. Attire is boots & jeans casual.

The Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championship returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, from August 16-18, 2022.
