Crave Lexington, Lexington's food + music festival dedicated to "made-from-scratch," presents the second annual Crave Sunday Fare, a pop-up event in advance of the September 13-14 Crave Lexington food + music festival.
This year's Sunday Fare is themed Smoke & Strings. Four top-notch local chefs have come together to create a decadent, 4-course, family-style brunch around the general theme of "smoked;" live music from Lexington folk / Americana outfit Small Batchwill provide the strings.
The event kicks off at 2 p.m., with a Kentucky Proud Cocktail Hour, followed by a 4-course meal featuring a trio of smoked summer soups created by chef John Fosterand his Sullivan University protègès Will Ulsted and Laura Vogel; a "bluegrass banchan" from chef Mark Jensen (Fork in the Road mobile galley and forthcoming Distillery District restaurant middle fork kitchen bar); a tantalizing main course (meat and vegetarian options will both be available) from Kentucky Horse Park chef Adam Wade; and a delectable dessert featuring smoked fruit pies by James C. South, of the soon-to-open central Kentucky restaurant Solidago.
The meal will be served family style in the idyllic and intimate setting of the Kentucky Horse Park Grotto.
