Kentucky Classic Combined Driving Event

Event Description: 

The Kentucky Classic Combined Driving Event is a 4-day event. This year’s event will feature preliminary, intermediate, and advanced level divisions. The advanced-level competition is an FEI-level two-star (CAI**) event. The 2017 USEF National Championships for single, pair, and four-in-hand ponies will be taking place as well as the 2017 USEF National Pair Horse Championship. The event will also feature the Kentucky Classic Preliminary and Intermediate Championships. Thursday October 6
9:00 a.m - Official horse/pony inspection, for FEI competitors only 
1:00 p.m. – Competitors’ Welcome Party and Briefing 
5:00 p.m. – FEI dressage “Under the Lights” in the Rolex Arena
 
Friday, October 7
9:00 a.m. – Intermediate- and Preliminary-level dressage in the Rolex Arena

Saturday, October 8
9:00 a.m. - The marathon

Sunday, October 9
9:00 a.m. – The cones competition with overall awards ceremonies following each class

KY Classic Combined Drive Event

Event Description: 

The Kentucky Classic Combined Driving Event is a 4-day event. This year is the USEF National Championships for the Teams of Horses. 2014 Alltech WEG Individual Silver medalist Chester Weber will be competing as well as his teammates from that year's 4th place finishing team, Misdee Wrigley Miller and Allison Stroud. Also expected to compete is James Faircough, part of the USA's bronze medal effort at the 2010 Altech WEG. Carriage Driving Event (Spring Fling)

Friday, May 30, 2014 - 8:00am to Sunday, June 1, 2014 - 5:00pm
Event Description: 

The Spring Fling driving event is an opportunity for drivers to bring their horses to the Kentucky Horse Park to practice driving for the upcoming show or recreational season as well as get to opportunity to drive their horses on the beautiful park grounds. Driving is the sport of horses pulling carriages, within driving there are many disciplines ranging from combined driving to wagon pulling. This event is open to all disciplines and drivers; novice to advanced. Joanna Wilburn will give private lessons and give free group lessons to the participants throughout the long weekend.
