Southern Lights Holiday Festival Returns to the Bluegrass

Family-Favorite Event Runs Nov. 18-Dec. 31 at the Kentucky Horse Park

The 23rd annual Southern Lights holiday festival, presented by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky Inc., returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Nov. 18-Dec. 31. A holiday tradition for many families, more than 125,000 individuals in more than 30,000 vehicles attend Southern Lights annually from Kentucky and beyond, making Southern Lights a premier holiday event in the region and nation.

The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and WHAS Crusade for Children have awarded grants to the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation which will allow for the purchase of a wheelchair accessible golf cart.
 

Hats Off Day Announces Contributions to the Kentucky Equine Humane Center and Kentucky Horse Park Foundation

Hats Off Day, Kentucky’s day to celebrate the horse industry, is pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of its sponsors and supporters, major contributions have been made to the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation and the Kentucky Equine Humane Center.

Dr. Tom Riddle of Rood & Riddle, the managing partner of Hats Off Day stated, “It’s extremely gratifying to be part of an event that not only raises awareness of Kentucky's signature industry, but also financially supports two organizations that are vital to the success of the equine industry of our commonwealth.”

BATTLE IN THE SADDLE CELEBRITY TEAM PENNING EVENT IS FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

The third annual Battle in the Saddle Celebrity Team Penning Event returns to the Kentucky Horse Park’s Covered Arena on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is proud to present the 2015 Battle in the Saddle Celebrity Team Penning competition, presented by Merial. This exciting event pairs two amateur riders with a celebrity guest rider to compete to see who has the skills and bravery to pen a group of cattle in the quickest time.  

Cross Country Schooling Canceled for May 3rd & 4th

After thorough inspection of the Cross Country Course following the 2015 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, the KHP and KHPF leadership have come to the mutual decision that we need to cancel the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation’s Cross Country Schooling for May 3rd and May 4th due to adverse course conditions resulting from the heavy rain and high attendance at the cross country portion of Rolex Kentucky.

Information About the Cigar Memorial Fund

The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation joins equestrian enthusiasts from around the world in mourning the loss of beloved racehorse Cigar. This great champion’s legacy and impact are truly immeasurable, and the Hall of Champions here at the Kentucky Horse Park will never be the same. The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation has established a Cigar Memorial Fund and is honored to accept memorial gifts in Cigar’s name. Proceeds from the Cigar Memorial Fund will be used towards a statue and landscaping surrounding Cigar’s grave.
