The 2013 Hagyard Midsouth Three-Day Event and Team Challenge, one of the most popular events of the year, will be held October 18-20!
The Three-Day format will start with Dressage the first day, Endurance/Cross Country the next, and follow with Stadium Jumping the final day. The biggest difference of this format are the jog-outs or veterinary horse inspections and the Endurance/Cross Country phase meant to challenge the horse's fitness, speed and jumping ability and the rider's sense of pace and horsemanship.
Horses and riders form teams of 3 or 4 and share in competitive camaraderie and team spirit. To show this team spirit, teams are encouraged to dress in their own theme by wearing safe, appropriate costumes!
Sponsored by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, the Hagyard Midsouth Three-Day Event and Team Challenge, helps to develop Hagyard's strong presence in sport horse medicine and to raise funds for the Midsouth Eventing and Dressage Association (MSEDA).

The Jump Start Horse Trials, presented by the Keeneland Pony Club, will return to the Kentucky Horse Park, September 27-29. The trials serve as an introductory event for those just entering the sport of eventing.
The Jump Start Horse Trials have been held for 24 years, providing a means for beginning eventers to participate in an event at their own level and for these athletes to have an opportunity to prepare for more demanding competitions later on. The Jump Start Horse Trials started in 1990 by the Keeneland Pony Club and has grown to 375+ competitors.
The Jump Start Horse Trials is a competition composed of three phases of riding - dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. This event will test both the horses’ and the riders’ skill and stamina. Dressage will be on Friday and Saturday, and cross country and show jumping will be on Saturday and Sunday. Preliminary, Training, Novice, Beginner Novice and Starter Divisions are offered. Riders come from throughout the United States and Canada to compete at this United States Eventing Association (USEA), United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and MidSouth Eventing and Dressage Association (MSEDA) sanctioned event. Riders range in age from 10 to 65+.
Participants that progress within the sport could move on to compete in internationally acclaimed events, such as the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, which is held annually at the Kentucky Horse Park. All proceeds will benefit the Keeneland Pony Club.
