Meet the Kentucky Equine Humane Center's adoptable horse of the week, Goliath!

This handsome boy is Goliath, a very friendly Standardbred/Tennessee Walker cross who has been a family pet in the past.

The 16.2-hand, 5-year-old gelding is extremely willing to learn but to this point has had minimal training.  He has potential as a buggy, trail horse. His previous owner did have a trainer start 30 days of training with Goliath. He is currently in a herd with other geldings.

Meet the Kentucky Equine Humane Center's adoptable horse of the week: Kyro. Kyro is an adorable, small horse who is looking for a home with someone who can further his current training under saddle. He is a 3-year-old Appy cross gelding, 14.2-hands high. Kyro has wonderful ground manners and would be a great project for a 4-H / Pony Club member who would like to take Kyro to the next level. Meet the Kentucky Equine Humane Center's adoptable horse of the week: Winston! He is a nice, 5-year-old, 14.1-hand, Quarter Horse cross gelding who is ready for a new home. Winston is easy to handle and groom and LOVES attention. He has a great personality and is a beautiful mover. Winston is learning some ground work, has been ridden under saddle and will need additional training with both. Winston gets along well with both geldings and mares when turned out in a herd. Meet the Ky Equine Humane Center’s adoptable horse of the week: Sophie.

She is a very cute, 2-year-old Mustang cross filly, 14.2-hands (and still growing) who LOVES attention. She was actually born at the Kentucky Equine Humane Center in August of 2008.

Sophie is currently working on her ground manners and is progressing nicely. She has been started under saddle and does well with obstacles. Sophie needs a home where she can get consistent handling to continue her progress.

Meet the Kentucky Equine Humane Center's adoptable horse of the week, Doc!

Doc is a nice, 9-yr-old Thoroughbred gelding, 16 hands, who came to KyEHC when his owner could no longer care for him and wanted him to have a good home.

After a brief racing career he was ridden on trails and started jumping.  According to his previous owner Doc has not been ridden in a year and will require a confident handler and an experienced rider. He is extremely smart and has a fun personality. He is sound for any discipline and gets along well with other geldings in a herd.

Meet the Ky Equine Humane Center's adoptable horse of the week: Locket's Charm.

Locket is a very laid back, 4-year-old, 15.1-hand Thoroughbred gelding.  He ran only one race before deciding racing wasn't for him. He enjoys interacting with people and has a kind attitude.  He is interested in everything around him. He has been ridden English and Western and while still considered green, he is very willing to simply walk. His pleasant attitude will win your heart.  Locket gets along well with both geldings and mares.  They think he will be great as a trail horse or for low level showing.

Meet the Kentucky Equine Humane Center's Adoptable Horse of the Week: Biscuit!

Biscuit is a 4-year-old Palomino mare, 14.2-hands, who was rescued by a family who felt she would be very adoptable after spending some time receiving training. She is very friendly and enjoys people. Once she has been placed under saddle, they believe she would make a lovely horse for a young rider or small woman. She is very social and is in a mixed herd setting.

Meet the Kentucky Equine Humane Center's Adoptable Horse of the Week: Louisiana Lady!

This lovely, 15/1-hand, 7-year-old Thoroughbred mare had a wonderful home but due to her owner's health issues, she had to return her to the KyEHC.  Lady is very eager to please and likes people.  Due to an old injury to her withers, she will require a well-fitted saddle and a rather small rider.  She will be best suited to light trail riding.  She is currently in a field with other mares.
