Where: Kentucky Horse Park Steeplechase Course, officials’ tower (rain location nearby).
Why: High Hope Steeplechase Day - a Lexington area fan favorite for 44 years – will return on May 22nd, giving Lexington horse lovers’ their only chance to enjoy the beauty and excitement of live steeplechase racing and family fun and entertainment, all in a country picnic setting.
Proceeds from High Hope Steeplechase day will benefit Central Kentucky Riding for Hope, the Maker's Mark Secretariat Center, the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation and the Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital. To date, High Hope Steeplechase has helped raise over $1.5 million for worthy causes.
Photo Opp: At the steeplechase course itself, several horses will be "schooling" over fences and on the flat, in preparation for High Hope Day including several NARA apprentice jockeys, recently featured on NBC-TV’s "Today Show" preparing for the "Catch A Riding Star" race on High Hope Steeplechase Day.
How: Use the main entrance of the Kentucky Horse Park and follow the yellow "High Hope" signs to the steeplechase course.
