John Henry's fans across the country have requested updates on the beloved champion's health.

He is being closely monitored by his veterinarian, and has been treated for dehydration several times this summer, due in large part to the excessive heat and his age.

He is afterall, a very, very old horse who has far exceeded his life expectancy, so we treasure each day a gift.

As of Tuesday morning, September 18 at 9:15am, John Henry was bright-eyed, had his breakfast and was eating hay (and of couple of sugar cookies for his sweet tooth!). His veterinarian drew blood this morning to determine if he needs to go back on fluids.

He is still receiving guests at his stall during park hours, 9am to 5pm.
