John Henry's fans across the country have requested updates on the beloved champion's health.

He is being closely monitored by his veterinarian, and has been treated for dehydration several times this summer, due in large part to the excessive heat and his age.

He is afterall, a very, very old horse who has far exceeded his life expectancy, so we treasure each day a gift.

As of 11:15am, John Henry finished his breakfast and is getting ready for a day full of admirers. He has already been visited by a number of friends and acquaintences and is keeping cool in his stall. He went for a short walk yesterday, but didn't want to venture too far away from his stall and his fan.

He receives guests at his stall during park hours, 9am to 5pm.
