John Henry's fans across the country have requested updates on the beloved champion's health.

He is being closely monitored by his veterinarian, and has been treated for dehydration several times this summer, due in large part to the excessive heat and his age.

He is afterall, a very, very old horse who has far exceeded his life expectancy, so we treasure each day a gift.

As of noon, John Henry is having a quiet day after having finished his usual breakfast, topped-off with a couple of doughnuts earlier this morning. His night watchman reported that at 4am, John was banging on his stall door for treats. He is currently taking a nap.

He receives guests at his stall during park hours, 9am to 5pm.
