John Henry's fans across the country have requested updates on the beloved champion's health.
He is being closely monitored by his veterinarian, and has been treated for dehydration several times this summer, due in large part to the excessive heat and his age.
He is afterall, a very, very old horse who has far exceeded his life expectancy, so we treasure each day a gift.
As of 8:40am, John Henry is pinning his ears and swinging his skinny-but-still-mighty-powerful rear end toward one of his caretakers, Robin (this just means that he is feeling like the John Henry we all know and love). He is getting a little bit spoiled by all of the treats his fans are bringing him and becoming rather demanding. Appetite is great.
He receives guests at his stall during park hours, 9am to 5pm.
Thank you for your interest and concern!
