John Henry's fans across the country have requested updates on the beloved champion's health.
He is being closely monitored by his veterinarian, and has been treated for dehydration several times this summer, due in large part to the excessive heat and his age.
He is afterall, a very, very old horse who has far exceeded his life expectancy, so we treasure each day a gift.
Good news! As of 8:50am, John Henry's condition has been stable for a couple of weeks, so we will suspend the daily health updates. We will occassionally post news about him, but hope that you will join us in gratitude and in celebrating the great champion's return to some normalcy. He took a 30-minute walk outside his stall yesterday and continues to enjoy the extra treats his friends have been giving him during the course of his recovery. Once again this morning, he was banging on his stall door to be fed.
He receives guests at his stall during park hours, 9am to 5pm.
Thank you for your interest and concern!
