Franklin County Cross Country Invitational

The Franklin County Cross Country Invitational is a middle school and high school cross country meet. The meet is hosted by Franklin County High School. There will be a spectator fee for this event, the fee is $5. Divisions are split by gender, level, and distance. CASA Superhero Run

Event Description: 

5K Registration on the day of the event closes at 8:45AM. Order early to ensure correct size t-shirt. There will be a 1K for kids 12 and under (begins @ 8:30AM) and a 5K for all ages (begins @ 9AM). The 5K is a competitive distance verified course with chip timing. However, walkers are welcome! There will be water on the course, and times given at each mile. All 1K participants will receive custom cape! All 5K participants will receive a race shirt. Many fun family activities, including face painting, bouncers, games, crafts and food. Guests will include Disney Princesses, Ghostbusters, Superheroes, and mini ponies from Central Kentucky Riding for Hope! Participation in the festival – costume contests, inflatables, games, face painting, free food giveaways, etc. is complimentary to all race participants. Please ensure you have your race bib on to participate in all activities and giveaways.

Smooth Jazz Fest

It's time to make your plans to visit Kentucky's destination for Smooth Jazz! Each year on the 2nd weekend in August, Smooth Jazz fans from across the commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond... make their way to Lexington for an experience like no other!

Set a midst the the rolling hills of the Bluegrass lies one of America's finest resort campgrounds - the Kentucky Horse Park Campground. The Kentucky Horse Park Campground is located approximately six (6) miles north of Lexington's New Circle Road and nine (9) miles from downtown Lexington, five (5) miles north of the Embassy Suites Hotel on Newtown Pike, at I-75, exit 115, and three (3) miles south of Georgetown on Iron Works Pike, at I-75, exit 120. The campground's entrance is just east of the main entrance to the Kentucky Horse Park. This venue will be the site of August 13th's SUMMER BREEZE SATURDAY All Star Jazz Showcase.

American Red Cross Disaster Blaster Relief Fundraiser

The Red Cross Summer Soiree is an annual charity event benefiting the Bluegrass chapter of the American Red Cross. This casual event includes dinner and drinks as well as live and silent auctions. Great Day Race & Festival

Bluegrass Classic Dog Show

Event Description: 

The Bluegrass Classic Dog Show is a 5-day dog show sponsored by the Lexington Kennel Club Inc., the Northern Kentucky Kennel Club Inc., and the Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club Inc. This show will include competition for more than 150 breeds, best-in-show competition, junior showmanship classes, and obedience and rally. AKC Owner-Handler Series, Canine Good Citizen Test, and a Meet the Breeds event will also take place Saturday and Sunday, plus a 4-H Dog Club Musical Program on Saturday. Dock Diving will be featured this year, as well.

Judging Starts: Thursday at 9 am; Friday - Monday at 8:00 am. Conformation rings are on the main arena floor and on the concourse. Toy and Non-Sporting Breeds will be judged upstairs in the Exhibition Hall. Each ring will have a post listing the breeds and times being judged in that ring on that day. A complete list of breeds ring times will be available at the show and posted on this website once entries are confirmed, usually a week before competition begins.
